In my profession I've had the misfortune of coming across a number of people who think ethics is some town in England. Accordingly, with the passage of time I find myself gravitating towards like-minded ethical colleagues and clients who like making a dollar, without ripping off innocent folk.
Moreover, I practice what I preach, particularly when it comes to billing clients reasonably, saying "no" to the jobs that I can't add value to and I'll be the first to admit if I don't know the answer, however it doesn't take me long to find the answer or find someone who does.
"…The way I see it, clients want three things from me: 1. A job well done (at a price); 2. To sleep at night (at a price); 3. Price certainty (no surprises).
"And there are three things I want from my clients: 1. Satisfaction; 2. Repeat business; 3. Payment."
